Taliban Launch $120 Million Aluminium Can Factory in Herat
……….

Taliban authorities have launched a $120 million aluminium can manufacturing project in Afghanistan’s western province of Herat, describing it as the country’s first facility of its kind, Amu TV reported. The project was formally inaugurated on Thursday as part of broader efforts to boost domestic industry.

According to a Taliban statement, Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy chief minister for economic affairs, laid the foundation stone for the Pamir Aluminium Cans Manufacturing Company at an industrial park in Herat. The factory will be built on 16 jeribs of land, equivalent to about eight acres.

Officials said the plant will be fully financed through private investment and is expected to create approximately 1,700 jobs once it becomes operational. The project aims to reduce Afghanistan’s dependence on imported aluminium packaging by expanding local manufacturing capacity.
