Female Doctors in Kandahar Quit Jobs Amid Taliban Harassment
……………
Several female doctors in Afghanistan’s Kandahar Province say they are leaving their jobs due to ongoing Taliban harassment over the absence of male guardians, according to news reports. The doctors told Hasht-e Subh Daily that they face accusations of working without a hijab or a mahram and have been instructed to bring male relatives to work.
At the same time, men are barred from entering areas designated for female staff. Male doctors also report restrictions, including bans on opening private medical stores. The growing constraints have deepened the healthcare crisis in the province.
