Taliban Detain Tailors for Making Women’s Clothing in Kandahar
………..
The Taliban have detained several tailors in Kandahar for producing women’s clothing, local sources told Amu TV on Monday. The arrests, which reportedly took place on September 21 in the Rangrezano, Dana, and Aino Mina neighborhoods of the provincial capital, have left dozens of workers unemployed and prompted concern among residents.
Sources added that the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has warned of further restrictions on women in the province. Authorities have not disclosed the number of tailors detained, and the Taliban have yet to issue a public statement on the matter. Women in Kandahar already face significant limitations on employment, education, travel, sports, and access to public spaces.
