Afghani Pilgrims Face Visa Struggles to Join Holy Arbaeen
————————————-
According to a report from Shia Waves Persian, thousands of Afghan Shia Muslims who have been preparing to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage are facing the possibility of not being able to attend due to delays in receiving their visas. With only a few days remaining until Arbaeen, the long wait for visas has increased the likelihood that many will miss the world’s largest religious gathering.

The Iraqi consulate in Kabul has announced that the visa issuance process will begin on Sunday, August 10. However, with approximately 150,000 applicants and limited time, it is unlikely that all of them will receive their visas in time.

The overland journey from Kabul to Karbala takes more than three days, meaning that even if visas are issued, many pilgrims will arrive after the day of Arbaeen. This issue has been a recurring problem for Afghan Shia Muslims, leading to widespread criticism. Despite the challenges, many pilgrims remain hopeful that they will still be able to make the journey, even if it is with a delay.
