Taliban seal Shiite mosque in Kabul, order evacuation of 100 houses
The Ministry of Justice of Afghanistan, under the control of the Taliban, has demanded the evacuation of at least 100 houses in the senatorial area of the 6th district of Kabul city, claiming that the houses were built on usurped government land, local sources confirmed.
According to reports, the Taliban have sealed a Shiite mosque in this area using the claim that it has been built on usurped land and it is not permissible to pray there.
Local sources add that, on Monday night, the residents of the area offered Maqrib prayers in front of the mosque and posted pictures of themselves on social networks, which disturbed the Taliban and led to the arrest of the local imam and several worshipers.
These sources have also noted that representatives of local people are missing along with several others. They claim that these residents are held in the personal prison of the Acting Ministry of Justice of the Taliban.
The residents of this area of Kabul say they have religiously legal as well as customary documents to prove their claim, but the Ministry of Justice of the Taliban has dismissed these documents as fake.
This comes despite the fact that the Taliban have usurped the land, properties and possessions of Shias and Hazaras in different areas of Afghanistan under different pretexts and excuses and have forced these victims to move elsewhere in some cases.
