The United Nations put name of the head of the terrorist movement “Taliban of Pakistan”, Mufti Nur Wali Mehsud, on the terrorism list. The Urdu BBC newspaper reported that the United Nations placed the name of Mufti Nur Wali Mehsud on the list of terrorists and terrorist movements “Al Qaeda and the Taliban movements”.
Noor participated in the Taliban attacks against the Pakistani security forces and the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan, then he served as Deputy Emir during the reign of Mullah Fadlullah after the killing of former Deputy Emir Khalid Mehsud. In June 2018, the Taliban chose Pakistan Mufti Nur Wali Mehsud as their new leader, replacing the former leader Mullah Fazlullah, a week after his death.
