Sayyed al-Shuhada International Committee reveals the number of sacrifices distributed in 12 countries
The official website of the Shirazi Religious Authority revealed the numbers of sacrifices distributed by the Sayyed al-Shuhada International Committee in 12 countries.
In a statement received by Shia Waves News Agency, the official website of the Shirazi Religious Authority stated that “the sacrifice represents a great humanitarian project, even a global one, as it shows cooperation in its best form among Muslims in the world.”
It added, “The Kuwait-based Committee has been holding this project annually, as more than 1,600 sacrifices were distributed last year in many countries, including Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Philippines.”
It explained, “The focus has also been on East African countries such as Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and Rwanda, in addition to Niger.”
According to the statement, the Sayyed al-Shuhada International Committee expressed its hope for a larger distribution this year because of the great humanitarian resonance of this project and encourages sympathy between the rich and the poor.
The importance of the project comes with the rise in food prices significantly as a result of global economic inflation, whose first victims are the low-income and the poor.
