Afghanistan: Mine explosion kills six government border guards
Afghan media reported that six Afghan border guards were killed as a result of a mine explosion on a road in Herat Province, western Afghanistan.
Tolo News reported that the blast occurred on the Herat Trojandi Highway in the area of the Sankei Robat.
Tolo News quoted the Governor of Herat, Wahid Qatali, saying that a Humvee vehicle belonging to the security forces hit a mine planted beside the road, killing 6 border guards, including the commander of the Fifth Frontier Brigade, Diaa Khan.
