Shia Rights Watch International Organization expressed its strong condemnation of the Bahraini authorities’ support for the death sentences against political dissent demanding political and economic reform.
The organization recently learned of the decisions of the so-called Bahrain Court of Appeal in a hearing on Monday, 25 February 2019, which ordered the confirmation of the death sentences and the revocation of nationality of the detainees Mohammed Radhi Abdullah and Mohammad Ibrahim Touk, although the lack of procedures correctness that is politicization and lack of integrity and not taking into account the presumed legal standards.
The organization also confirms that there is conclusive evidence that the confessions of the convicts have been extracted under duress, through torture and intimidation practiced by the Bahraini security interrogators, which brings the authorities to review their arbitrary decisions against the Bahraini people and not to continue the current abuse.
Therefore, the organization calls on all international parties and human rights organizations to work to stop the implementation of the unjust executions and to push the Bahraini authorities to dialogue and listen to the legitimate demands of the people, as well as the release of all political detainees from prison.
