Taliban attacks kill 23 policemen in Afghanistan
At least 23 security men were killed in different attacks by Taliban terrorists in three provinces of Afghanistan in last 24 hours, said officials on Sunday.

At least eight policemen have been killed as a result of an insider attack in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province. Provincial governor’s spokesman, Omar Zwak told media that a policeman killed eight of his colleagues in the Sargodar area of Lashkargah, the provincial capital.
He confirmed that eight policemen were killed in the insider attack. According to local media, spokesman for Taliban group, Qari Yousuf Ahmadi claimed responsibility of the attack saying that the attacker loyal to the insurgent group killed nine policemen and took away their weapons.
Moreover, eight Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel have been killed and four others wounded in a Taliban attack in northern Sar-i-Pul province of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, at least seven Afghan police personnel manning a check-post have been killed in a Taliban attack in Afghanistan’s western Farah province. A member of the provincial council, Dadullah Qane told media that Taliban rebels stormed a check post in the Bala Baluk district of Farah killing seven policemen.
The attack came weeks after Taliban terrorists confirmed that progress was made during the talks on the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan and other crucial matters during negotiations with United States special envoy for reconciliation in Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad in Doha.
