Iraqi Ministry of Transport resumes scheduled flights to and from Iran, starting tomorrow


The Iraqi Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli, announced, on Sunday, the resumption of the scheduled flights of the Iraqi Airways to and from the Iranian cities of Tehran and Mashhad, starting tomorrow, Monday.
In a statement, Al-Shibli said, “The resumption of the flights took place after obtaining the fundamental approvals from the Iranian aviation authority to operate direct flights to Baghdad and Najaf towards Mashhad and Tehran and vice versa, which were suspended from 9/25/2020 to 10/8/2020 at the request of the Iranian authorities.”
He stressed, “The ministry is keen to re-operate this important line while strengthening its preventive measures and adhering to the instructions issued by the Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety during the implementation of flights, in addition to the instructions issued by the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority and international aviation organizations.”
