Saudi Arabia pays 3 billion dollars for Al-Azhar to issue statement against Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces

Mohammad al-Baradae, the Egyptian politician, said that Al-Azhar leaders were under pressure before issuing a statement against Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces.

 

Al-Baradae said in statement that the Egyptian Ministry of Finance sought the help from the leaders of Al-Azhar Islamic Center to gain three billion dollars from Saudi Arabia after issuing a statement against Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces due to a financial crisis the country faces.

Several senior Iraqi figures have condemned a statement issued Wednesday by Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center against Iraq’s volunteer forces who, along the Iraqi army, are fighting IS terrorists.
