The organization faulted the government and security services for failing to protect Shias adequately or pursuing those responsible with sufficient effort.

According to SRW’s representatives, 60 people were killed and dozens injured in a bomb attack on a Shia Muslim mosque and religious center in the town of Shikarpur, about 470 kilometers north of Karachi.

Local security officials said the attack took place when Shia worshipers were performing Friday prayers.

This is the latest deadly incident in a wave of violence against the Shi’ite community in Pakistan. Jundullah, a Takfiri terrorist group, which has pledged allegiance to ISIL, have claimed responsibility for this and similar terrorist attacks in the country.
