Desecration of Quran in Taif, Saudi Arabia

According to Tunisian daily al-Jareeda, a 13-year-old boy found the copies and his father informed the police.
Footage of the copies of the Quran found in street drains was broadcast on MBC satellite network sparking anger among viewers.
This is not the first time desecration of the Quran happens in Saudi Arabia. In 2013, Quran copies were found in the sewage system in Taif.
Later that year, insulting the Holy Book by prison officials in Al-Haer province led to protests in different parts of the country.
In 2014, a Saudi citizen found torn copies of Islam’s Holy Book in garbage cans again in the city of Taif.
