Saudi authorities began executing the decision of demolishing an ancient Shia neighborhood in Awamiya, Qatif province.

 

 

Saudi authorities began executing the decision of demolishing an ancient Shia neighborhood in Awamiya, Qatif province.

The neighborhood has been populated by more than 2000 Shia Muslims for 400 years. Civil activist, Ali al-Dubaisi, said that the Saudi authorities are committing a crime against the helpless people of al-Masurah neighborhood. The Saudi authorities

have cut off electricity and water from the area in addition to forcing a number of families to leave their houses, causing the residents to seek refuge in local mosques.
