Iraqi army breaks siege on ISIL-besieged troopers (Anbar – Iraq)
Iraqi army forces, backed by volunteer Shia fighters, have managed to break a siege by ISIL Takfiri terrorists on hundreds of soldiers in an area of the western province of al-Anbar.
Army spokesman Lieutenant General Qassim al-Moussawi said that Iraqi forces were able to free as many as 400 troops who had been surrounded by ISIL terrorists three days ago in the Sijir area near the city of Fallujah.
The Iraqi military had launched a major operation against the ISIL terrorists in the city of Fallujah earlier in the day.
