Ministry spokesman Abdul-Zahra al-Hindawi said, ‘The number of the population in Iraq is increasing the growth of up to 3% annually at a rate which indicates an increase of about one million people every year, pointing at the same time that the rate of increase cannot be compared with death rates because the growth rates are more.
The spokesman added that the number of victims of terrorist attacks since 2003 until 2015 amounted to two hundred thousand people.
Violence including gunfire and bombs caused the majority of deaths but thousands of people died from worsening health and environmental conditions directly related to the conflict that began in 2003, Iraqi public health researchers said.
