Eidaz-Zahra marks the end of the two-month mourning period, Muharram and Safar. According to narrations of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, Eidaz-Zahra has many other names including one that is beloved to Shias which is, the day where the black attire is removed.
The special Eid is celebrated annually on the ninth day of the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal in the Islamic Hijri calendar.
