A Pakistani Shia leader has made it clear to the government and security officials that it was obligatory on them to facilitate the pilgrimage of Pakistani pilgrims who travel via Balochistan province to pay visit of holy shrines in Iran and from there to Iraq.
“It is duty of the federal and provincial governments and the security agencies to provide security and all needed facilities to the pilgrims,” said Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, speaking at a press conference in Quetta.
The Shia leader also criticized the government for ignoring eastern route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said that the government was working on western route to benefit Punjab province alone. This is while CPEC must benefit Balochistan and its oppressed people.
