report confirmed the emergence of “further evidence of the torture and mistreatment of detainees” from Bahrain
Human Rights Watch in its annual report confirmed the emergence of “further evidence of the torture and mistreatment of detainees” from Bahrain. The organization said this evidence points out the ineffectiveness of institutions established by the state since 2011 to safeguard detainees, and the persistent failure of authorities to hold officials accountable for torture and other serious rights violations.
The report looks at major abuses and rights violations perpetrated by the Authorities in Bahrain in light of the ongoing political deadlock. Bahrain has been in political deadlock since government cracked down on wide pro-democracy protests in 2011.
