Saudi jets pound Sana’a international airport

Saudi warplanes have bombarded the international airport in Yemen’s capital

Saudi warplanes have bombarded the international airport in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, as Riyadh continues its deadly campaign against the impoverished southern neighbor.

Yemen’s al-Masirah news channel said Saudi warplanes pounded the capital city airport three times. The bomber aircraft also targeted a military base in the Yemeni province of Omran.

On Wednesday, dozens of Saudi military forces were killed or injured in retaliatory missile attacks by Yemeni forces in the al-Amri district of Yemen’s southwestern province of Ta’izz.

Yemen has been under Saudi military strikes on a daily basis since late March. The military campaign is supposedly meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to Hadi, an ally of Riyadh.

More than 7,500 people have been killed and over 14,000 others injured since the offensives began.
