Rare hand-woven carpets in Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him

The Department of Warehouses at Imam Hussein Holy Shrine announced the recruitment of experts from outside Iraq specialized in the field of evaluating and determining the ages of rare carpets, as well as using the latest scientific methods in the field of storage.

The statement said that “Imam Hussein Holy Shrine possesses a rare hand-woven carpets, dating to over 200 years,” noting that a number of experts from outside Iraq are currently in the holy shrine to assess these carpets and identify their age and type.

It added that the Department has a large number of rare hand-woven carpets such as (Mashkaban, Karmani, Mashhadi, and Kashan), made from the best wool.
