The administration of the Kadhimiya Holy Shrine has declared that it will not hold the banner replacement ceremony in accordance with the health measures taken to prevent the outbreak of the new coronavirus.
The annual ritual is held to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Musa al-Kadhim, peace be upon him.
According to a statement by the administration of the Kadhimiya Holy Shrine, which Shiawaves has a copy of, that the banner replacement ceremony will not held be this year, due to the current health condition of the country. The banners will be replaced without a mass gathering.
The banners atop the holy dome of Imam Musa al-Kadhim and Imam Muhammad al-Jawad, peace be upon them, are replaced with black ones on the martyrdom anniversaries every year.
