Group Quran competition for women concludes in Iraq

According to the website of the Quranic center, the team of the Dar-ol-Quran’s branch in Babil Governorate of Iraq won the first rank at the national contest.
It was organized by the center in cooperation with the Basair Quranic Institute.
Amal Al-Matouri, head of the Women Quranic Activities of the center, said that 16 teams from different Quranic institutes of Iraq participated in the competition.
Quran memorization, recitation, interpretation, Quranic sciences, jurisprudence, and Quranic knowledge were the categories of the contest, which was supervised by a group of experts from different parts of the Arab country.
Fatemeh Mansouri, head of the institute, said that the Quranic group from Basra and the one from the Quran center of Seyyed Al-Shibli’s shrine in Baghdad won the second and the third ranks respectively.
She added that the top group was gifted the flag of Imam Hussein’s, peace be upon him, holy shrine and that 110 Quran reciters who participated in Ramadan Quran reading sessions were honored at the closing ceremony of the competition.
