Dutch Ambassador to Iraq Jan Waltmans visited the Holy Shrine of al-Abbas, where he was received by a number of its officials headed by the Secretary General Engineer Muhammad al-Ashiqar in the holy shrine’s reception.

After discussing ways of developing relations and means of cooperation between the two countries, the ambassador toured the holy shrine and examined its projects, including the al-Kafeel Museum, expansion projects, the communications/surveillance systems and other projects.

“As an ambassador in Iraq, it is necessary for me to visit all provinces, in particular the holy city of Karbala, for its religious and historical significance, making it the most visited province in the country,” said Waltmans.

The Dutch official thanked the administration of the holy shrine for the warm hospitality.
