Imam Ali Mosque in Springfield, Virginia, held a commemorative ceremony marking the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) for the year 1448 AH, with the participation of members of the Muslim community and followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

The mosque, described as one of the centers affiliated with Grand Ayatullah Shirazi, hosted members of the local Muslim community and supporters of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by religious activities reflecting on the message and reformist principles of the uprising of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Mustafa Akhound delivered a speech addressing the significance of the Arbaeen pilgrimage and its spiritual and humanitarian dimensions. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of Ashura, including sacrifice, justice, and reform, which were embodied by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

The speaker also highlighted the role of Islamic centers in Western societies in preserving religious identity and introducing younger generations to the message of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), particularly its universal values of defending truth and opposing oppression.

The program concluded with mourning and elegiac ceremonies for Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), his family, and his companions. Participants expressed their grief and renewed their commitment to following the teachings and principles of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
