Local sources in Damascus report that Ahmad al-Sharaʿa, known as Jolani, has issued a new directive allowing the Shrine of Sayyida Zaynab (peace be upon her) in the Sayyidah Zaynab district to reopen to pilgrimage groups from Iraq and Lebanon beginning early next month.

According to Shia Waves Agency, citing Hudhud News, the shrine — located in the southeast of the Syrian capital — normally receives millions of Shia visitors annually. Tourism and religious travel organizers say that if security conditions remain stable, a new wave of pilgrimage trips to Syria is expected.

The decision follows months of security-related restrictions and has raised hopes among Shia communities in the region. Some sources say that travel companies have already begun preparing schedules and coordinating logistics for the anticipated resumption of visits.
