Embroidered Quran on Display at Riyadh International Book Fair
————————–
An exceptional, intricately embroidered copy of the Holy Quran, created by Syrian calligrapher Muhammad Maher Hazari, is currently on display at the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025 in Saudi Arabia, IQNA reported.
Hazari dedicated twelve years (1998 to 2010) to complete the entire Quran, meticulously embroidering the verses onto fabric, a feat that has earned him high acclaim in Quranic calligraphy.
The monumental work is physically substantial, comprising 12 volumes and weighing approximately 200 kilograms. The verses are stitched onto individual cloth sections, each measuring 80 by 60 centimeters.
Hazari expressed that exhibiting his life’s work in Saudi Arabia was a long-held dream. The Riyadh International Book Fair, held under the slogan “Riyadh Reads,” began on October 2nd and will continue through October 11th. In addition to the Quran, Hazari has also embroidered forty Prophetic hadiths and other supplications onto fabric.
