The honourable Residence of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi in the holy city of Qom hosted a mourning ceremony on Friday, 5th Rabi al-Awwal 1447 AH (August 29, 2025), marking the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Sakina bint al-Husayn (peace be upon her). The commemoration took place during the daily scholarly sessions at the Marjaʿ’s residence with the presence of His Eminence, scholars, students, and devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

Lady Sakina (peace be upon her), the noble daughter of Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him), is remembered as a symbol of patience, chastity, eloquence, and dignity. She stood as a beacon of steadfastness during the tragedy of Karbala and the trials of captivity, ensuring that the message of Ashura was conveyed to future generations.

The mourners honored her memory with elegies and recitations, expressing grief for the calamities of the Captives of Karbala.

Lady Sakina (peace be upon her) passed away in Damascus after enduring the hardships of captivity. She was laid to rest there, and her blessed shrine in Damascus remains a site of devotion and pilgrimage for lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt across the world.
