Imam Reza Shrine Launches Dedicated Quranic Gatherings for Children
——————————
The Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) in Mashhad, Iran, has launched its first specialized Quranic sessions tailored specifically for children, Iqna.ir reported. This new initiative, organized by the shrine’s Quranic Affairs Department (Dar-ol-Quran al-Karim), aims to introduce younger audiences to Quranic teachings through age-appropriate and interactive formats.
The sessions incorporate Quran-focused storytelling, poetry, engaging narratives, and competitions, with participants receiving symbolic gifts. Previously, Quranic events for children and teens were held jointly under the title “Javad al-A’emma Gatherings.” However, following expert consultations, the shrine decided to separate the age groups to provide more tailored approaches for enhanced engagement with Quranic content.
As a result, specialized Quranic gatherings for children will now take place every Thursday, two hours before Maghrib prayer. Teen Quranic recitation sessions will be held separately on Wednesdays during the same time slot. The distinct goals for these programs are to convey Quranic values to children through stories and poems, and to identify and nurture Quranic talent among adolescents.
