Holy Karbala-based Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development, one of the centres operating under the auspices of the office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, has called on the Iraqi government to take practical steps to facilitate the Arbaeen pilgrimage and provide services to visitors arriving from abroad.

In a letter addressed to the Iraqi Prime Minister, the foundation stressed that, with the approach of the Arbaeen commemoration—one of the most prominent symbols of Islamic and Iraqi heritage—millions of believers from around the world are eager to take part in the sacred rite.

Citing the recommendations of Grand Ayatollah al-Shirazi to ease the affairs of pilgrims, and in response to multiple requests the foundation has received from inside and outside Iraq, Misbah Al-Hussain urged the government to approve the following measures:

• Waive entry visas for all Arab and foreign visitors to Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) during the Arbaeen.

• Facilitate the issuance of individual entry visas for all visitors throughout the year.

The foundation expressed hope that the government would approve and implement these steps “in service of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his honored visitors.”
