UNESCO mission to Iraq visits Holy Shrine of Imam Ali in Holy Najaf
The Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, in Holy Najaf received a delegation from the UNESCO mission in Iraq, to conduct an exploratory tour inside the holy shrine, and the courtyard of Sayyeda Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, with the aim of exploring the important historical and cultural heritage represented by this sacred place.
The head of the Public Relations Department at the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, Mr. Sahib Al-Basaisi, stated, “The UNESCO delegation was taken on a tour inside the corridors of the shrine and the courtyard, with the aim of exploring the great historical and cultural values inherited in this sacred place, shedding light on the architectural and artistic details that reflect the heritage of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali.”
It should be mentioned that the holy shrines of Imam Ali, Imam Hussein and Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon them, are frequently visited by official and diplomatic delegations, with aim of paying tribute the Infallible Imams, and to see the spiritual, cultural and historical heritage of these holy places.
