Construction work of Abu Talib Courtyard launched in Kufa city

The administration of the Great Mosque of Kufa has announced the launch of the construction wotks of the courtyard of Abu Talib, peace be upon him, located next to the holy shrine of Muslim bin Aqeel, peace be upon him, in the city of Kufa.

According to a statement followed by Shia Waves, the mosque’s administration said that “the area of the courtyard is (16,400) square meters,” adding that “it includes three floors with their facilities to serve the honorable pilgrims”.

The statement added that the project is planned to be completed within a period of five years under the supervision of the engineering cadres at the Kufa Mosque administration and under direct monitoring of the presidency of the Shia Endowment Office and the engineering department.

The statement continued that the construction method will be in accordance with the Islamic style, according to the designs that were prepared based on the updating of the basic design of the city of Kufa, as well as the architectural ideas that were formed from the sources that took into account the compatibility with the existing religious and historical context.
