Japanese Muslims celebrate renovation of historic ‘Sapporo’ mosque

According to local media outlets,Muslims in Japan have celebrated the renovation of the historicmosque known as (Sapporo) in the city of Hokkaido.

The organizers were quoted by the media as saying: “With the help of our great Lord, the historic Sapporo Mosque, which is a Muslim icon that Muslims in Japan are proud of, has been renovated.”

They added that “the opening ceremony was witnessed a good turnout of Japanese Muslims, including a number of religious leaders and social activists from all over the country, who delivered important speeches that emphasized their pride in their Islamic identity “

The organizers confirmed that this mosque was the reason many Japanese people embraced Islam, adding that it is a sign of the growth of the Muslim community in the country and the increasing acceptance of Islam by Japanese society.
