The conference of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID), in the Indian city of Visakhapatnam, saw the inclusion of the ancient Al-Hussainiyah River regulator in the holy province of Karbala in the World Heritage List.
The Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources announced on Saturday that the ancient Al-Hussainiyah River regulator in the holy city of Karbala was added to the World Heritage List.
The ministry said in a statement that “on a distinguished Iraqi day at the ICID conference currently held in the Indian city of Visakhapatnam, the Ministry has succeeded in adding the ancient Al-Hussainiyah River regulator in the holy province of Karbala in the World Heritage List.”
