Al-Aqeela Courtyard project sees remarkable development in construction works
The construction project of Al-Aqeela Courtyard in the holy city of Karbala, is witnessing a remarkable development in its works, which have reached the stages of cladding the walls with marble and Karbala tiles.
Shia Waves Agency has monitored the development in this important project, which is carried out by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, to accommodate the increasing number of pilgrims, especially during the Holy Arba’een.
Al-Aqeela Courtyard is constructed within the area surrounding the site of the Zainabi Mound, which is an important historical landmark that tells about what happened to Sayyida Zainab al-Kubra, peace be upon her, after the martyrdom of the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon them, on Ashura.
According to officials, the construction of “the project, is constructed on in the southwest of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein on an area of (50 thousand square meters) and with a built-up area of more than (120 thousand square meters)”.
They added that “the project includes important facilities, the most important of which is the service area, which has an area of (36 thousand square meters), in addition to the presence of a guesthouse for visitors with an area of (14 thousand square meters) with two floors underground and two above the service area,” adding that “the project includes a second building for health units with a total of (600 units), offering various services, while the total number of health units in the shrine is (1,000 units).”
It should be mentioned that the holy city of Karbala is receiving increasing numbers of pilgrims from all over the world, especially during massive pilgrimages, such as Ashura and the Holy Arba’een.
