Train collision in Bangladesh leaves at least 17 dead
At least 17 people have been killed and more than 100 others wounded after two trains collided in northeastern Bangladesh, Al Jazeera reported yesterday.
The crash in the city of Bhairab saw a cargo train smash into a passenger train from the rear, derailing two passenger carriages, officials said on Monday.
The death toll is expected to rise, with rescuers reporting they could see bodies crushed and trapped under overturned coaches.
Railway services were suspended throughout the region following the accident, officials said.
