International Federation of Journalists: Arrest, violence against Afghan journalists increased

The International Federation of Journalists has condemned the repression of journalists in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban, and has demanded the immediate release of all detained media workers.

This federation is concerned that the number of arrest cases involving journalists in Afghanistan has increased dramatically.

The organization claims that, following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, media activity in the country has been significantly limited.
