GP Suspended for Veil Request Allowed Back to Work

Uk- Dr. Keith Wolverson, 54, who was suspended last year for asking a Muslim woman to remove her veil during an appointment, has been permitted to resume work.

The Dailymail reported this week that the GP was handed a nine-month suspension and found guilty of or admitted to 17 charges of misconduct while working as a locum in 2018. He will return with new sanctions for a year, overseen by a responsible officer and a workplace reporter to ensure he adheres to medical standards and addresses cultural diversity.

 Wolverson’s suspension came after the incident with a Muslim woman, Mrs. Q, where he repeatedly requested she remove her niqab during a consultation.
