Shia devotees of Ahlulbayt hold Ashura mourning ceremonies in Madrid, Spain
The Shia communities in Madrid, Spain have continued to hold their mourning ceremonies and processions over the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him
The director of Ahlulbayt Foundation Madrid, Musa al-Haj Kamel al-Assam, spoke to Shia Waves Agency: “The foundation is committed to establishing mourning ceremonies to commemorate the painful Ashura of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.”
Al-Assam added that, “The Shia participants are from Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon as well as Spanish citizens,” noting that, “the foundation has started its mourning ceremonies on the first of Muharram and will continue until after the tenth day of Muharram.”
He concluded that, “These Husseini rituals are carried out in four languages namely: Arabic, Persian, Urdu and Spanish and are attended by official figures and non-Muslim people.”
