Holy Karbala Government announces preparedness for Ashura Pilgrimage, amid tight security measures

The local government in the holy city of Karbala has announced its preparedness for the coming Ashura of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

The media office of holy Karbala’s Governor, Nasif Jassim Al-Khattabi, said, “the Governor received, on Tuesday, the Iraq’s chief of staff, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Yarallah, with high-level military commanders,” indicating that the security measures and preparations are taken to secure the massive Ashura Pilgrimage.”

It added that all health, service and security departments have confirmed their readiness to provide their services to the honorable pilgrims on Ashura.

The office concluded that “the local government has coordinated with the Ministry of Transport to provide buses to return the honorable pilgrims to their provinces after performing Ziarah.”
