For stronger communities, Lanarkshire Islamic group tackles food poverty, mental health challenges
Friends of Airdrie and Coatbridge Islamic Centre (FACIC) is helping the hungry and those with mental health problems to build stronger communities.
The group has partnered with a local community mental health team and food banks to provide support during the cost of living crisis.
FACIC raised funds to provide mobile phones to people with mental health issues who couldn’t afford them, and virtual events were organised to combat isolation and provide access to support.
The group expressed its gratitude to the community for their support and is committed to continuing its work to help those in need.
