The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) warned that the current fighting in Sudan, which began three weeks ago, has resulted in the deaths and injuries of a terrible number of children.
UNICEF spokesman James Elder told reporters in Geneva: “As we had worried, the situation in Sudan has become difficult for a large number of children, and the organization has so far received reports showing that over the past 11 days since April 15, 190 Sudanese children have lost their lives, with more than 1,700 more injured.”
