Scientists concerned over rapid heating of oceans worldwide

The global sea surface has reached an unprecedented high temperature, recently.

According to a report by BBC NEWS, scientists are bewildered at the phenomenon, worried that “combined with other weather events, the world’s temperature could reach a concerning new level by the end of next year.”

They predict that a strong El Niño weather event can worsen the situation soon.

The report added that, “Warmer oceans can kill off marine life, lead to more extreme weather and raise sea levels.”

It should be mentioned that a new study warns that the earth is accumulating heat at an alarming rate, with most of the extra energy going into the oceans.
