Human Rights Institute: The Bahraini government did not respond to the request to visit the UN Special Rapporteur on torture

The Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy confirmed that the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain still refuses to respond to the visit of the UN Special Rapporteur on torture.
The director of the institute, Ahmed al-Wadaei, said through his account on Twitter, that Bahrain did not respond to a UN request to accept the visit of an international rapporteur to Manama.
He explained that a reminder of the request has been submitted since the beginning of this year and so far the government is ignoring the request.
The government of Bahrain, which has a poor record in the field of torture and human rights violations, has rejected many similar requests since 2011 until now.
