Imam Ali Holy Shrine: More than two million pilgrims marked martyrdom of Imam Ali

The Imam Ali Holy Shrine has announced that more than two million pilgrims, from Iraq and other world countries, commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, in Holy Najaf.

According to the Information Technology Center of the Holy Shrine, 1 million, 920 thousand pilgrims attended the Imam Ali Holy Shrine until early morning of Wednesday.

The officials in the Holy Shrine explained that more than 1,000 volunteers participated in the massive pilgrimage to serve the honorable pilgrims to Holy Najaf.

They confirmed that security plans were laid ahead of the pilgrimage in cooperation with the government departments of security, health and municipality.
