ISIS-linked terrorists kill more than 30 civilians in Congo

According to a local human rights organization, the Allied Democratic Forces, an extremist rebel group with ties to the Islamic State, killed over 30 people including men, women, and children in eastern Congo’s Ituri province.

The terrorist attacks happened on Monday and Tuesday, with death toll expected to rise as search for more bodies is underway.

Violence has been ongoing in the region for decades, with over 120 armed groups fighting for land, resources, and power.

UN reports say the attacks by rebel groups such as ADF have increased recently, killing at least 370 civilians and abducting several hundred more since April last year.
