Nonviolence Organization calls on Turkish authorities to release Syrian journalist, Ahmed al-Rihawi

The Nonviolence Organization, Free Muslim, has condemned the arrest of the Syrian journalist, Ahmed al-Rihawi, by the Turkish authorities, calling on them to immediately release him and to express their apology.

In a statement of condemnation received by Shia Waves Agency that, the organization said: “The arrest of al-Rihawi by the Turkish authorities is a blatant violation of the international law and a racist practice, as well as, an attack on the freedom of expression, which reflects security policies that aim at silencing people’s rights to free speech.”

It adde: Al-Rihawi was expressing journalistic visions, without having violated any legal or traditional laws that might justify his arrest.”

The organization pointed out that, “This procedure reflects an ugly reality and authoritarian despotism of the Turkish government, based on an oppressive and racist policy.”
