Shirazi World Foundation reveals the Supreme Religious Authority’s position regarding the protests in Iraq and Islamic countries

The Shirazi World Foundation revealed the position of the Supreme Religious Authority regarding popular demonstrations and opposition rights, according to the fatwas of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq Al-Husseini Al-Shirazi.

The Foundation released a letter received by Shia Waves News Agency, which included answers to 70 questions posed by protesters and participants in legitimate popular demonstrations.

In its letter, the Foundation said: “It has received questions from Iraqi protesters and demonstrators, demanding to know its legitimate answers according to the fatwas of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi.”

It added that “the protesters asked their questions, given the current conditions in Iraq and the government’s failure to perform its duties towards the Iraqi people, and the fact that some youth in Baghdad and a number of other provinces staged peaceful demonstrations from time to time against the government and officials to demand their legitimate rights.”
