Custodian of Sayyeda Zainab Holy Shrine passes away in Damascus, Syria

The legal custodian of the holy shrine of Sayyida Zainab (peace be upon her), Dr. Hani Mohsen Murtada, passed away on Saturday after a long life he spent in services the last of which was at the holy shrine of Sayyida Zainab, peace be upon her, in Damascus, Syria.

Mortada, who holds a doctorate in human medicine, passed away at the age of 83. During his life, he held several positions, most notably the Minister of Higher Education, the president the University of Damascus, and the custodian of the holy shrine of Sayyida Zaynab, peace be upon her.
